No matter what you do, making decisions will always be a part of your life. As you probably know, most decisions you make don’t come with a textbook, or a formula to help you! Sure, you have guidelines and goals, but your study, work and life decisions don’t really follow a ‘neat’ formula!

Management Accounting deals with the decisions that you’ll be making in the business world. You’ll be required to make financial decisions for the companies you work for. From budgets and figuring out what we should charge for your products, to where to get funding and how much you should pay when buying another company. These are situations you’ll need to find solutions and make decisions for, and we’re here to give you the tools to help you do that in the future. We’re excited to take you through these, because you’ll be using these skills for the rest of your life!

Every company and every transaction is different (just like people), so one size doesn’t fit all. This makes Management Accounting tricky for students who love their formulae, but we’re here to help you make sense of it all, and even learn to love it.

We understand that Management Accounting and Financial Management can be daunting when you start it. We, however, believe that anyone has the ability to understand and apply the principles if they approach the subject the correct way. With a bit of luck, you might even start enjoying it as much as we do.

In the video lectures, we break down each topic into the basics so that you can understand what business problem it aims to address, and why a company would apply the specific principle. We believe that if you understand the ‘what’ and the ‘why’, the ‘how’ will be become much easier.

After you’ve understood the principles (or theory), all you need is practice in applying the principles and learning proper exam technique. We walk you through specific exam-type questions, and teach you the correct exam technique to earn maximum marks.

Via the discussion forums, you can engage with your fellow classmates and your lecturer will be available to answer questions, motivate you and check up on your progress.
